REALSPACE: Virgin Galactic's "SpaceShipTwo" in experimental drop-testing

It's been a conspicuously loooooooooooong time since we've heard anything substantial out of Virgin Galactic, but as the footage below the jump shows, the development of SpaceShipTwo is not only continuing, but has actually gotten pretty darn far.

This footage was shot nine days ago, on the eighth entirely-atmospheric flight test. There's still no word on when the thing is actually going to commence space test flights, nor any real guess when it'll start commercial operation, and I *still* have my suspicions that the government will shut this down like they've done with previous private space industrial things, but, hey, we'll see. We'll see.

In the meantime: Impressive coming from a somewhat looney British billionaire and a crazy American engineer who believes Aliens built the Pyramids.
