A friend of mine just pointed me at this site. Marvel has commissioned several "art appreciation covers" for its Avengers line.
Some of these are fantastic. Some are hilarious.
I recognize most of the source art being used, but I still want to give kudos to Marvel and the artists of these covers for their sense of humor, ingenuity, and the skill of execution.

Ok, I liked the Fantastic 4 one, and the Avengers as told by Georges Seurat was sorta' cute, but, meh.
