TV Review:Kings:Judgement Day

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Unfortunately, this review isn't going to be tremendously complete, as viewing conditions were not optimal.... Optimal being every frame beamed directly into your brain and etched there forever.

I make no secret that I adore this show. It is amazing, every scene conveys you to a world that is familiar, yet somehow alien. Into this landscape, we now have a look at a justice system in a world where kings hold sway.

TV REVIEW: LOST: Some Like it Hoth

sysadmin 2.0's picture

The comedy team of Miles and Hurley take their act on the road, Miles finds he may not hold a Candle to his dad, Bad dentistry can kill and Hurley has a screenplay he wants to show Mr. Lucas.

I'm going to skip the Play by Play tonight, as 3.0 will undoubtedly do a better job at it than I will. However, this Miles-Centric ep had some issues, which I'll dive into immediately.

TV Review: Dollhouse: Echoes

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Nothing like mysterious psychotropic drugs to induce a flashback episode- so here we get to learn more about Echo and company. So what new bits of info did we pick up?

Well, go watch it on Hulu. I'll still be here.

Back? Good!

We knew that Echo used to be a girl named Caroline. Now, through our drug induced flashbacks, we learn that she was a naive anti-capitalist animal rights nut. She and her boyfriend raid a pharmaceutical lab and get a lot more than she bargained for. In the aftermath, Adelle starts to recruit the devastated Caroline.

TV Review: Smallville:Hex

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Tonight we saw the introduction of yet another DC hero into the Smallville universe:Zatanna Zatarra, the Mistress of Magic. So, how did her translation from the comics to the small screen work?

Pretty darn well...

When we first see her, she's in her trademark fishnets and top hat, granting Chloe a birthday wish: She wants Lois Lane's life. In an oddly NON cliche'd twist, Lois and Chloe do NOT switch bodies, Chloe just gets Lois's.... attributes; which are apparently fairly hard to dress using Chloe's wardrobe.

TV Review: LOST: He's Our You

Sayid begins by breaking the back of a chicken and ends by shooting another.
(Okay. Not really. But I couldn't resist the turn of phrase)

Mild Spoilers and Paradox alert!

In 1977. Sawyer finds that everything that was under control is now spiraling out of his grasp. Everything from his professional competence to his personal life is slowly spinning out of reach. And amazingly enough, it's not really Jack or Kate's fault.

It really IS Sayid's

TV Review:Batman (TBATB): Trials of the Demon!

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Tonight: a kind of creepy and very well done episode

In the Teaser, Batman and Jay Garrick (The 'Golden Age' Flash) face Scarecrow and some girl who screams.

.

To resolve this, Flash becomes the Grinch who stole Halloween and Batman leaves Flash to answer for his pumpkin-stealing spree.

TV Review:Smallville: Turbulence

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Tonight, Clark makes a big step, Doomsday plays vigilante, Jimmy learns to love painkillers and Chloe cries a lot...

More after the jump! .

Tonight's episode felt...mixed. I know there had to be reasons for the spotty episode (After all, you have to have Clark in every episode, right?), but the bits with Clark and Miss Teschmacher... I mean Tess... just didn't work for me. She sets a trap for Clark to make him reveal his powers, he cuts her oxygen in return. Doesn't quite seem fair....

TV REVIEW:KINGS:Goliath

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Whatever it was I was expecting, it wasn't quite this.
I'm still kind of amazed that this show ever saw air, honestly. It's expansive, thoughtful, heartfelt...

I think I loved it.

The story goes like this:
Boy from the sticks is anointed by a prophet for some unknown purpose, goes into battle- destroys an implacable foe with an improvised weapon, is brought to the attention of the King and promoted. In the process, he unwittingly replaces the crown prince in the favor of the people and romances the King's daughter.
