Which Alien Would You Vote For?

Mama Fisi's picture

So--who's the baddest humanoid alien around--Superman, The Doctor, or Mork from Ork?

Well, let's see here...maybe we should start by listing their assets.

Superman:  he's faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.  Often mistaken for a bird or a plane.

Fan Film Friday: Superman Vs. Hulk

I'll be honest with you, I'm not a fan of the convention that when superheroes meet for the first time, they must fight. This is especially true of inter-company crossovers. It's boring, it's annoying, it's frequently out of character and it has a host of other problems.

However, there is Michael Habjan's "Superman Vs. Hulk". There is no plot. There is very little characterization. There IS, however, some extremely watchable homebrew CGI. What makes this fascinating, is that you can see the progression in Mr. Habjan's skills as he posts new segments.

Batman vs. Superman

If you're a fan of the animated Batman and Superman series, then you'll probably get a kick out of this short segment from Tim Daly's (the voice of Superman) "The Daly Show." It guest stars Tim's son Sam (who also voices Superman) and Kevin Conroy, the "quintessential" voice of Batman. It's a little trippy...

Fan Film Friday: Superman's 75th

This is not a fan film in the sense that we normally think of as fan films.
This is an officially made, officially sanctioned, you can't get much more official than this animated short.

That said- this is animation that is made by fans for fans... there are a metric tonne of easter eggs in it, and the love for the character is evident...
So from Zak Snyder and Bruce Timm--- we have "Superman 75th Anniversary"

MOVIE REVIEW: Man of Steel

Wil Avitt's picture

Usually, I'm able to size up how good or bad a movie was going to be pretty quickly. Set photos, casting decisions, trailers, they all serve to give you a pretty good indication. With Man of Steel, however, I've run the emotional gauntlet to get to this point where I am able to share with you my thoughts on the finished product. I went from curious to hopeless to excited. At one point I was convinced that the once ill-fated Tim Burton version of Superman was finally (and depressingly) coming to fruition in this film. It's certainly been a wild ride to get to this point, but here we are.

DVD MOVIE REVIEW: Justice League: Doom

Last year fans of comic books and cartoons based on comic books lost a great storyteller far too early with the untimely death of Dwayne McDuffie. This week, we have been given a gift: Justice League: Doom, Dwayne's last work.

DC UPDATE: What Are You Reading?

Wil Avitt's picture

This is going to be a short column this month, mostly because it has only been a so-so month in comics. We're in the saggy middle section of the New 52 inagural story arcs, most of which I expect to last 6 issues. I will say this, however, if Action Comics issue #7 rolls around and Superman is still running around in the jeans and t-shirt, I'm dropping that book. He should be in his Kryptonian battle suit in that title already. I didn't like the t-shirt look when they did it to Kon-El and I certainly don't like it on Kal-El, especially with the stupid cape tucked into his t-shirt.
