The Husband kept grousing about how this show has jumped the shark by bringing in Grand Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader.  In actuality, their presence serves as an entre'acte to move the team of the Ghost from Lothal to the Rebel Fleet.

After busting Kanan out of the clutches of the Empire, the Ghost crew repays the Rebels by trying to secure a cargo of military-grade forcefield generators from an Imperial cargo convoy.  They succeed in liberating the cargo, but the generators are not part of it.

The season finale of Rebels was satisfyingly exciting.  Even Chopper comes off as a hero.

The crew of the Ghost stages a daring raid on Governor Tarkin's personal Star Destroyer in order to rescue Jedi Kanan, who is being tortured for information by the pasty-faced Inquisitor.  Their plan requires that they steal an Imperial transport ship, which they do thanks to some jumping-flea-fu acrobatics from Sabine.  This sequence was the weakest part of the episode.

After a long holiday break, the show returns with the best episode yet.

Kanan is struggling to train Ezra, and decides to take the lad to a Jedi temple--only he requires Ezra to find it himself, using only the Force to guide him.  As it happens, there is a temple hidden in a mountain right there on Lothal (handy...) and Ezra listens to the stones and says they will only open for him and Kanan working together as master and padewan.
