THINGS WE ARE DEFINITELY INTERESTED IN: "Mad Max Fury Road" (2015)

It is impossible to overstate my love for "The Road Warrior" (1981). The original Mad Max (1979) is a very solid B-movie made for about a million dollars, Austrailian (About a half million US at the tme). Solid, but not brilliant, it's still a triumph of an inventive storyteller getting around his limitations. In no way did it prepare us for "The Road Warrior," however, which was made for about $1.5 million Australian (About $750,00 US) and remains arguably one of the best action films of all time.

EPISODE REVIEW: Survivors: “Episode Two” (Season 2, Episode 2)

Is it a bad sign that I keep taping this show and forgetting to watch it? I think it must be. Between BBC-A’s strangely self-destructive strategy of running this show up against Lost, its less-than-action-packed stories, and its general downer subject matter - seriously, if you’re doing a post apocalyptic story it has to feature mohawked gay bikers with crossbows at some point - I just keep pushing it to the bottom of my ‘must watch’ pile.

But my apathy was unwarranted this time out, as this is arguably the best episode they’ve done.
