EPISODE REVIEW: Iron Man: Armored Adventures: “Technovore” (Episode 19)

A slightly better-than-average episode that deviates from the established format somewhat, but still doesn’t manage to rid me of the ennui I’m feeling about this whole series.

The Mandarin’s major domo or first prime or lieutenant or whatever comes warn him that the Tong’s ongoing war with the Magia is going badly, and is unwinable, and there is talk amongst the gang members to maybe revolt or something. The Mandarin reluctantly instructs his domo to contact the leader of the Magia for peace talks.

EPISODE REVIEW: Iron Man: Armored Adventures: “Fun With Lasers” (Episode 16)

SHIELD just makes everything better, you know? I don’t know why that is. I can take or leave most of Marvel - actually, that’s not true, I can leave the overwhelming majority of it - but SHIELD is just inherently cool, and I’m not sure why. It’s better than Checkmate, it’s better than SWORD, it’s better than the 80s/90s LEGION, it’s better than any hoobajooba metahuman intelligence/spy organization. It’s just cool.

EPISODE REVIEW: Iron Man: Armored Adventures: “Panther‘s Prey” (Episode 15)

Welcome to what may or may not be the second season of Iron Man, Armored Adventures. This might be Episode 2, season 2, or it might just be Episode 15 of the unexpectedly long season 1. Nobody seems to care enough to post it on the ol’ interwebs, and I’m not really a Marvel guy so I don’t just intuitively know this stuff, but wherever we are, it was a pretty good episodes.

EPISODE REVIEW: Iron Man: Armored Adventures: “Man and Iron Man” (Episode 14)

Hey. Sorry for the late review on this episode, but we’re having some update problems this weekend. Anyway, we put it to a vote, as you’ll recall, about whether or not I should continue to review the show, and a whopping two and a half votes poured in (Don’t even ask about the half one, it was weird.) The final count showed 1.5 votes in favor, 1 against, so it would appear I’m going to be reviewing this show for another season or cycle of 13 episodes, or however it is they’re organizing this thing. Not exactly an overwhelming mandate, but the very tiny masses have spoken, and I obey.

EPISODE REVIEW: Iron Man:Armored Adventures: “Hide and Seek” (Episode 13)

Tonight we have what may or may not be the season finale of Iron Man. I’m frankly unclear about it. Some sources say it is, some sources say it isn’t, or that it’s the end of a production cycle and not a season, or whatever. So we’ll just ignore whether it’s intended to be a capstone or just another day in the life, and get on with the review, shall we?

EPISODE REVIEW: Iron Man Armored Adventures: “Seeing Red” (Episode 12)

Six episodes back we had the absolute worst episode of the entire series thus far, “Iron Man Vs. The Crimson Dynamo.” It was basically a pointless and more-or-less illogical WWF smackdown with mighty fighty robots. Tonight we’ve got a direct sequel to that episode, and - whoda’ thunk it - it’s actually pretty good.

EPISODE REVIEW: Iron Man: Armored Adventures: “Masquerade” (Episode 11)

You know, it was better this week. Predictable as heck from the get-go, but not too awful because of that. The story was more about character interaction than the mystery itself, and it worked well.

EPISODE REVIEW: Iron Man: Armored Adventures: “Ready, A.I.M., Fire” (Episode 10)

It’s day five of Science Fiction Hell Week, and after a hiatus of seven weeks, Iron Man returns with relatively little fanfare, making me wonder how it’s doing in the ratings. Sure they signed on for two seasons up front, but is it pulling in the viewers they want? Is it a successful show? Do they still believe in it? Are they willing to support it, or are they just burning off the episodes prior to ditching it.

Who knows. I strongly suspect the latter, but I honestly have no information about it.
