Why do Some Prefer Marvel and Others Prefer DC?
Submitted by Republibot 3.0 on Thu, 12/03/2009 - 01:00The other ‘Bots and I were discussing comics the other day, and we got to discussing the whole “Marvel vs. DC” thing, which is kind of like an even lower-brow version of the old “Ford vs. Chevy” argument. It’s every bit as irrelevant, and yet it strangely does seem to tell you something about the person, based on which one they choose. (I’m a Ford man myself. As a brief aside, I’m quite proud of Ford as a Republican in that they refused the government bail out, *and* they’ve managed to turn a profit recently.

There was some confusion as to exactly how long a season was, and whether or not we were actually well in to the second year of the show - cartoon seasons tend to run 13 episodes - but ultimately it turned out to be one long run of 26.

EPISODE REVIEW: Iron Man Armored Adventures: “Best Served Cold” (Episode 24)

According to the official information, there was an episode called “Uncontrollable” involving the Hulk that was supposed to air between this episode, and “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” I have absolutely no memory. I’m not sure if they reversed the order they’re airing in, or if I somehow just completely spaced out and missed it (Entirely possible, I’ve been very sick), but I have no memory of Hulk in Iron Man.

The Mandarin’s major domo or first prime or lieutenant or whatever comes warn him that the Tong’s ongoing war with the Magia is going badly, and is unwinable, and there is talk amongst the gang members to maybe revolt or something. The Mandarin reluctantly instructs his domo to contact the leader of the Magia for peace talks.

I can take or leave most of Marvel - actually, that’s not true, I can leave the overwhelming majority of it - but SHIELD is just inherently cool, and I’m not sure why. It’s better than Checkmate, it’s better than SWORD, it’s better than the 80s/90s LEGION, it’s better than any hoobajooba metahuman intelligence/spy organization. It’s just cool.
