SCIENCE FICTION UNIVERSITY: Kristine Nielsen on Astrobiology

Welcome to our infrequent, but well-intentioned “Science Fiction University” feature, in which we attempt to explain, expound, enlighten, and just generally explore the ideas surrounding SF. This is the first SFU to be in the form of an interview, but given the level of scientific content, I figured it was appropriate.

INTERVIEW: Chris Cook from Modern Conservative Talks Politics, And About Being A Pro Genre Extra

Today we've got Chris from Modern Conservative (dot) Com with us to talk about the absolute best Science Fiction series of the 1990s, Babylon 5, among other things. Chris, thank you for being with us today!

FAN FILM FRIDAY: We Interview Kelvington

REPUBLIBOT 3.0:
Good morning, everyone. Today on Republibot, we've got Rick Kelvington, master of mashups and fanedits and parodies supreme. We recently featured him on Fan Film Friday (Here: http://www.republibot.com/content/fan-film-friday-trek-through-time-dan-... ) and he's been kind enough - or at least undiscerning enough - to hang out with us today.

Rick, thank you for taking time out to speak with us!

RICK KELVINGTON:
You are certainly welcome, I enjoy your site, and this is a great fun to interact with you.

INTERVIEW: David Zondy of "Tales of Future Past"

Today we've got David Zondy with us. He's the creator, host, and all-around Grand Exalted Poobah of the excellent "Tales of Future Past" website, which some of our more attentive readers will recall I was inadvertantly ripping off some months ago. David, thank you very much for being with us.

DAVID:
Glad to be here–speaking metaphorically, of course.

REPUBLIBOT 3.0:
Again, sorry about unknowingly ripping you off. Thank you for being a good sport about that.

DAVID:
Hey, no problem. "Unknowingly", like trousers, covers a multitude of sins, so no harm done.

Today we're speaking with Joe Straczynski, the creator, producer, and main writer of "Babylon 5," and "Jeremiah." Mister Straszynski has created and/or produced a half-dozen TV series, he's been a radio host, he's a comics writer, he's a novelist, he's written the best damn book on Screenwriting you'll ever read, he's been nominated for a BAFTA, and won two Hugos, a Saturn, a Bradbury, an Eisner, an Inkpot, and he's the only person I've ever spoken with who has an asteroid named after him. Mister Straczynski, thank you very much for being with us today. It's a huge honor.

INTERVIEW: Joseph Negra of “Venus Rises”

Some of our readers may recall that back in May I posted an article on the site asking for any information about the "Venus Rises" web series that was in development a few years back, but seems to have kind of fallen off the radar recently. ( http://www.republibot.com/content/what-ever-happened-%E2%80%9Cvenus-rise... ) The same day that story went up, we were contacted by Joseph Negra, an actor from the series, who gave us a heads up on the state of the project, and he's kindly agreed to be with us today for an interview. Joseph, thank you very much for being here!
