Fan Film Friday: Superman Vs. Hulk

I'll be honest with you, I'm not a fan of the convention that when superheroes meet for the first time, they must fight. This is especially true of inter-company crossovers. It's boring, it's annoying, it's frequently out of character and it has a host of other problems.

However, there is Michael Habjan's "Superman Vs. Hulk". There is no plot. There is very little characterization. There IS, however, some extremely watchable homebrew CGI. What makes this fascinating, is that you can see the progression in Mr. Habjan's skills as he posts new segments.

FAN FILM FRIDAY: An Interview With Michael Cox

Republibot 4.0's picture

A couple of weeks back, I ran "Star Wars Downunder" as a Fan Film friday offering. Well, instead of a new film, I have the pleasure of presenting to you an interview we 'bots conducted with that film's creator, Michael Cox. We are much obliged to him for taking the time from his busy schedule to reply to some questions we put to him about how he made the film.

FAN FILM FRIDAY: Friday the 13th--The Return

Republibot 4.0's picture

I don't like horror films, in any way, shape or form, but I couldn't resist the joke about putting up a "Friday the 13th" fan film on Friday the 13th.

Turns out there's quite a few of them, and I pretty much chose the one I did because I only had to watch five and a half minutes of it, instead of an hour-long slasher film.

This one it worth seeing, if only for the Santa hats on the deer head mounts in the game room.

FAN FILM FRIDAY: What Every Space Virgin Needs To Know

Republibot 4.0's picture

Back in the more innocent fifties, little instructional films were made to be shown in "health" classes in high school, hoping to give much-needed yet chaste instructions to teenagers before anything untoward happened.

So, what if you took the soundtrack to one of these old chestnuts, and coupled it with appropriate scenes from, say, "Star Wars?" You get amazingly well lip-synched advice for how to ask a girl out on a date...

FAN FILM FRIDAY: Out-of-work Cylon

Republibot 4.0's picture

Now that Veteran's Day is safely past, I can post this one. It's not technically a fan film, as it was created as an on-air advertisement for when the Space Channel started airing the old BSG series, but it's got a delightfully quirky style to it.

Maybe this is what happened to Gary the Centurion after Neil canned his shiny metal @ss...
