I missed this one somehow when it first aired, so let’s catch up now, shall we?

Kevin has tracked Mike Morningstar to his lair, and busts in on him. They duke it out with superpowers, and Kevin looses. Mike explains that he *wanted* Kevin to track him, and that they need to work together to overcome their super powered deformities - Kevin wants to be human, and Mike wants to stop being an energy vampire.

EPISODE REVIEW: Ben Ten Alien Force: “Con of Wrath” (Season 3, Episode 11)

Kevin: “This is like one of those dreams where everyone you know is in it, and they’re all trying to hurt you.”
Gwen: “I don’t have dreams like that.”
Kevin: “Uh…no, neither do I.”

And on that note, we find yet another episode in fine form, possibly the best, and certainly the funniest episode of the year.

EPISODE REVIEW: The Venture Bros. : “Pinstriped and Poltergeists” (Season 4, Episode 8)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Well, The Venture Brothers is back in full-on offensive mode after last week’s palate cleansing, unexpectedly sweet episode. This is also the mid-season finale (I hate those!) for thesixteen-episode fourth season. The show’ll be back in a few months.

EPISODE REVIEW: Ben 10 Alien Force: “Busy Box” (Season 3, Episode 12)

Republibot 3.0's picture

By my count, this is the penultimate episode of Alien Force, both the season and the series. The show was conceived of as a two-season arc-driven series about fighting an alien invasion, and that story concluded in a three-part series finale that, alas, ended up *not* being a series finale because it got super-high ratings.

EPISODE REVIEW: The Venture Bros. : “The Better Man” (Season 4, Episode 7)

Republibot 3.0's picture

I’m going to say this has been a bit of a rebound week. Several of the shows I follow that have seemed rather out of sorts and somewhat off track have made unexpected and happy returns to form, more-or-less concurrently. We’ve got 30 Rock (Not a Science Fiction show), which made their first genuinely funny episode of the season, and we’ve got The Venture Brothers which generates a surprisingly sweet and reserved character-based piece that’s completely unlike anything else they’ve done this year. In fact, really, you could have stuck this in season 3 anywhere, and it would have fit.

TV MOVIE REVIEW: “Ben 10: Alien Swarm” (2009)

Republibot 3.0's picture

About three years back, the original “Ben 10” series was drawing to a close, and Cartoon Network decided on the rather odd choice of doing a live-action TV Movie, just to see if there was any interest in that sort of thing. Curiouser still, CN maintained that the movie was actually ‘canon’ - that is, that it was actually part of the continuity of the long-running series that had just ended.

EPISODE REVIEW: Batman: Brave and the Bold: “Death Race to Oblivion!” (Season 2, Episode 1)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Greetings and falicitations, I am Republibot 3.0, your charming, rakish, and generally unpredictable host, and I'll be stepping in for Republibot 2.0, our normal Batman reviewer, who was unavoidably unable to view the show this week. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but rest assure that he'll be back in the saddle on the next new episode (About two weeks from now, I think)

Bockbuster - sort of a DC version of the Hulk, I guess - attacks a museum, but Bats fights him to a standstill, then Captain Marvel turns up and defeats the guy.

EPISODE REVIEW: Ben 10 Alien Force: “Ghost Town” (Season 3, Episode 12)

Republibot 3.0's picture

It’s the penultimate episode of “Alien Force,” the second to last episode of a season that was never supposed to happen anyway, a fact made clear by the rolicking, and not-at-all cohesive nature of the season. There's just no story arc here, you know?

Vilgax attacks a police space cruiser, destroying it, and bursting in to a prison space station, where he meets Ghostfreak, one of the original ten Omnitrix aliens from the original show. Vilgax offers to free him in exchange for the secrets of the Omnitrix, and information on how to defeat Ben Tennyson.

EPISODE REVIEW: Ben 10:Alien Force : “If All Else Fails” (Season 3, Episode 8)

Republibot 3.0's picture

We’re now past the middle of the entirely-unexpected third season of Ben 10, and though the show continues to struggle to figure out exactly what it wants to be, it seems to have finally fallen in to a nice groove of storytelling. It may not be as ambitious as the previous two seasons, and it may be laboring under the heavy and obvious hand of ‘redefining’ the characters, but it remains a good show, with a solid core.
