Becoming a Cyborg...

Over the last year it seems my hearing has deteriorated. Not in the sense that I can not hear at all, but more at not being able to hear quieter sounds or distinguishing specific sounds among others or zeroing in on certain sounds when there is background noise.

I got it checked TODAY. Why? Well mainly because it could mean that I get a cool new tech gizmo to mess with and officially begin the conversion of weak flesh into glorious machine!

Living in interesting times...

Jedi Mind Trick's picture

For the last several weeks life has been interesting…and I mean that purely in the sense of the famed (albeit unattributed) Chinese Curse – ‘May you live in interesting times’.

Work assignments have me working PHYSICALLY on both coasts each week while managing full daily schedule and responsibilities in several geographies. It is now physically impossible to participate in all of the live discussions that span my areas of accountability. To do so would now mean following the sun and foregoing any idea of leaving the desk.

Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die...

I've really marveled at the wonders of technology lately. The last article was about turning our special operatives into Warmachine and the one before that was about the feasibility of a civilian funded mission to Mars. This one? It is entirely possible that our generation or the one that immediately follows, could actually see, in common use, technologies, that when used together, can utterly forestall death.

So…do you want to live forever?

If so, read on…

In the not so distant future (by 2018, specifically) US SOCOM operators might be equipped with armored suits take us down the path to making HALO’s Spartans, Marvel’s Iron Man and Mark I Space Marine Armor a potentially realistic piece of gear.

Mars Colony - Brilliant move or dangerous mistake?

Jedi Mind Trick's picture

I’m sure that everyone has noticed that the idea of a Mars colony is heating up. What they may not realize is exactly how much.

This whole recent bit started in April 2013 when the Dutch nonprofit foundation Mars One announced its intention of establishing a human settlement on Mars by 2024. In response, they received over 200,000 applications for what, at the moment, appears to be a one way trip.

How will Mars One pull this off?
