Okay, I'm a weenie...I confess...I was trying to find a fan film of the classic "Halloween" movie to post for today, but just looking at the thumbnails was creeping me out. So I went with something safe and fun. No less weird, but at least I can get to sleep at night...
This CGI short has a LOT of attention to detail--watch for the computers from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea in the control tower--and being done in mostly black and white is a nice touch.
This Wednesday morning, due to a bit of billiards geometry, the full moon and the rising sun will not only be visible together in the morning sky, but the moon will be in a total blood-red eclipse.
This is not so much a fan film, as an effects show reel about how to make a CGI fan film--in this case, inspired by H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulu Mythos. Unfortunately the monster doesn't really "look" right. But hey. It's better than I could have done.
