A Quick Look at Returning Summer and New Fall Genre Shows

Summer is here and it holds a few returning genre shows. Here is a look at some of the genre shows that will be hitting the cable airwaves over the next couple of months.

Falling Skies (TNT) – The alien overlords continue their occupation of earth. Tom Mason was taken by the aliens. What happened? Tom’s son Ben was harnessed by the aliens and rescued in season 1. How is he continuing to transition back to normal life? Season 2 should hold some answers as we continue to follow the adventures of the 2nd Mass. It premieres June 17th at 9pm.

Syfy axes Sanctuary

Here is some breaking news. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that after 4 seasons, the Sanctuary is no more.

Sanctuary started as a web show in 2007 and, due to its success, was picked up for television by Syfy. The series was innovative for its use of green screens and a RED camera. The series went through considerable changes over the years and was picking up steam at the end of season 4.

Book Review: “The Breach” by Patrick Lee (2009)

Ex-cop and ex-con, Travis Chase, is in the Alaskan wilderness when he stumbles on a wrecked 747. Upon investigation, Chase discovers all the passengers have been murdered including the First Lady. In her hand is a note that will send Chase on a wild and fast paced ride.

“The Breach” is the debut novel from Patrick Lee. It is a mixture of 24 and Fringe with a little X-Files sprinkled in. The novel is fast paced and gripping.
