FAN FILM FRIDAY: Rowan Atkinson As Doctor Who

Okay, so this isn't technically a "fan" film--it's a slickly produced BBC-TV parody film starring Rowan Atkinson, Jonathan Pryce, Hugh Grant, Joanna Lumley, Julia Salwaha, and Richard E. Grant, made for Comic Relief  back in 1999.

It's actually sort of non-canon canon.  The man who wrote it, Stephen Moffat, eventually went on to become head writer for the Doctor Who series proper.

Behold--"The Curse of the Fatal Death."

COMIC BOOK REVIEW: Star Trek: Countdown to Darkness

Star Trek: Countdown to Darkness is a four issue miniseries that acts as a prequel to the new film Star Trek Into Darkness. The name is reminiscent of the title of the comic book prequel to the 2009 film, Star Trek: Countdown. Countdown to Darkness was written by Mike Johnson, writer of the original Countdown as well as the limited series Nero and the ongoing Star Trek monthly comic book, which is set in the JJ Abrams timeline, and was illustrated by David Messina, the artist on Countdown and Nero. Countdown to Darkness is a very interesting story and, with what little we know of the plot to Star Trek Into Darkness, does seem to set the movie up in the sense that you want to find out what happens next. It isn't "To Be Continued" so much as it definitely hints at another story, the film's story.

Green Lantern TAS Season 1.5 episode 5: Prisoner of Sinestro

This is another episode that doesn’t really do anything to advance the story, but introduces Green Lantern’s most iconic villain: Sinestro, the pink-skinned, elven-eared, Satan look-a-like humanoid alien! He is a hero this time though (Yes, a hero named Sinestro who looks like the Devil and even has an “evil” moustache), a renegade hero but a hero nonetheless for the time being. This episode also has some rather creepy scenes.
